"Beit Chabad" - A Home for Every Jew

What is Chabad (Chabad-Lubavitch)
Chabad or Lubavitch Hasidism is simultaneously a philosophical doctrine, a social movement, and a religious organization. Chabad is considered the most dynamic and influential force in the modern Jewish world.

The word Chabad is an abbreviation of the Hebrew words used in the teaching of Kabbalah to denote the three powers of the intellect: hochma – wisdom, bina – understanding, daat – knowledge. As a Jewish religious philosophy, the teachings of Chabad reveal the highest levels of Torah wisdom, directing the human mind to understand the Creator, understand the purpose of the creation of the world, and realize the importance and special mission of each creation. Chabad teaches a person to check his every action and feeling with wisdom, understanding and knowledge.

The name "Lyubavych" comes from the name of the Belarusian village of Lyubavych (now Smolensk region), which was the center of the movement for more than a century. Consonant with the Russian word love, this name best reflects the idea of mutual responsibility and love for one's brothers and sisters inherent in Chabad teachings.
